Someone to Lean On

Hey fam!

I often look back at the story of Moses, Aaron and Hur as it is a clear reminder that we need each other! We were not meant to do life alone. In Exodus 17 it says...

“As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.

When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up--one on one side, one on the other--so that his hands remained steady till sunset.”

In our daily life we are so busy thinking we have to do things on our own and that we have to bear the burden by ourselves. But, notice that’s when the Amalekites started winning...when Moses started to drop his hands from exhaustion. Then, Aaron and Hur came in clutch, bringing support to Moses refreshing him by giving a place to sit then taking it the extra mile and actually standing along side of him raising hands toward heaven together for strength and victory!!!

We can get so caught up in our own thoughts that we forget everyone else around us. We allow worry and a racing mind to consume us.

But, I find that when we fix our eyes on what really matters most...i.e. Family, people, practicing generosity, being grateful....these are the things that help recalibrate our mindset. This may look like dropping a txt or even writing a hand written letter to a loved one. Or even a phone call or FaceTime. You’ll start noticing your problems fading away as you’re putting energy towards sharing and leaning on others as they also lean on you. Let’s not harbor what’s troubling us but confide in our (Aaron and Hur) figures about things we need to work out. Or you may be an internal processor. Whatever the case may be...make sure you don’t curl up in the cosom of complacency and seclusion. Someone out there needs you and you need them! Don’t forget...we all need somebody to lean on!

Please don’t hesitate to stop by! Would love to hear from you in the comments below.

Love,

Jenneka & The Sibs
