As seen - me trying to “mind control” Kato...or is he mind controlling me? Hahahah...are there any other fans of this great cinematic gem “Dinner for Schmucks”.....? No, just me? Well...There were a few nuggets to glean from this film but the part that recently stuck out was the mind/brain control scene from the movie.
The one character Therman had this mental control technique over one of the main characters named Barry until Tim helped Barry realize he needed to take action and not allow someone else to dictate who he was and is!
To reel this in a bit...;-) in Romans 12:2 it says- “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...”
In this world it is difficult to not allow the news, social media, circumstance or people, like Therman to influence and shape the way you think!
I recently read an excerpt that I want to share with you. It said “All godly action begins with the renewing of the mind. Right thinking produces right actions. Our actions are the fruit of our deepest thoughts.”
We have to ask ourselves “who or what am I allowing to control my mind and thought process today?” How can I change that?
I reiterate that renewing our mind is not something that ends. Renewing needs to become a Habit not a part time Hobby. Please know...I still struggle with various things but everyday is a new day to realign your thought process!
