Jared’s 3 Drinks for Your New Year Celebrations

Updated: Jan 5, 2021

Hold on to your bar carts because Jared Mimosa is in town😂 Hahah...ok the name is something coined by our Father, who upon seeing Jared’s “look” gave him the moniker😂 What can we say....loved it and we’re going with it.

Believe it or not, the three of us don’t really drink very often. We enjoy alcohol with friends or when we are with Dad...yet, very rarely do we indulge when it’s just the 3 of us....Now, oddly enough, we do enjoy the art of mixology and are thankful for the family and friends who test out the concoctions we dream up! Now, bottoms up...let’s get to it!

But not without making sure Jared’s mustache is perfectly placed in the upright position.

Now that’s more like it!

With Jared at the helm...

Jenneka, (Brindel...ehhh hemmm) and I sat back and enjoyed....

First up, one of our all time favorites -

Jared’s Moscow Mule (serves 1)

Ingredients:

ice

juice of 1/2 of a lime

1 1/2 - 2oz vodka

about 6oz ginger beer (as you can see we used Reeds)

*Tip* before making your drink allow Moscow Mule Mugs to sit in the freezer or if you are in a winter wonderland let the mugs chill in the snow.

Directions:

Fill chilled mugs with ice. Add juice of 1/2 a lime. Pour in 1.5 - 2oz vodka. Add ginger beer. Give everything a little stir and garnish with a slice of lime.

Enjoy!

Another classic with a Jared twist...

Gin & Juice with A Hint of Christmas 🎄 (serves 1)

Ingredients:

ice

2.5 - 3oz gin

1 - 1.5 cups orange juice

sprig of pine/ Christmas tree

Directions:

In shaker start by muddling pine needles. Add 1oz gin and muddle a bit more to get the flavors out. Add remaining gin and orange juice. Put a few cubes of ice into the mix and shake, shake, shake 🎶 Pour out into double old fashioned glasses or juice glasses work too😁 Garnish with an extra sprig of pine.

Classy and sassy...this Gin and Juice combo would also make a lovely brunch beverage.

For our final drink this evening, Bro the bartender not from Brooklyn (😂) is whipping up an upstate living meets southern comfort inspired cocktail.

New Year‘s Eve Apple Shake (aka) Winter Apple Pie Moonshine Spritzer

(serves 1)

*Confession* Jared came up with this drink recently and didn’t really have a name...so if you have any suggestions...we are open to them! Feel free to drop us a line or put a suggestion into the comments!

Ingredients:

ice

1 1/2 - 2oz apple pie moonshine

1 cup Apple cider

juice of 1/2 a lime

sprig of pine 🌲

Directions:

In shaker muddle pine. Add 1oz gin and muddle a bit more. Squeeze juice from 1/2 lime into shaker and add the juiced lime to the mix. Pour in extra moonshine and apple cider. Drop in a few ice cubes and shake things up a bit. Pour into double old fashioned glass and garnish with a sprig of pine and a slice of lime (optional).

This cocktail would be delicious served with steak or really any cut of beef. If you are vegetarian this would be great with a chickpea curry!

Wishing you and all those you love a Happy New Year filled with Health, Joy and Peace! Cheers and lots of love! The Sibs

Janna, Jared and Jenneka (and Brindle too)
