Ahhhh the Olympics! Did you know we 3 Sibs are huge fans…always have been always will be! The amazing prowess of teams and individuals coming together from all over the world to compete for the Gold! The sportsmanship and amazing stories that come from each of the games always seems to just get us. Yes, we may have scared the living day lights out of our dogs while watching one of the swimming relays 😬 maybe…okay…definitely did!
It’s funny how the Bible utilizes the imagery of a race quite often….
Hebrews 12:1
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”
As I think about the Olympic Games currently transpiring, I can’t help but notice the empty bleachers. Yet, I’m sure every athlete is aware that in reality…although the seats may be empty…the world is still watching! It really brought the above verse into a new light for me!
We may not feel as though anyone is cheering us on in our marathon that is life! Yet, let me remind you…we have all of heavens bleachers filled…and cheering us on in our race!
So this week, during the times you may have tripped, or lost your goggles….keep going! If you need a moment to re-adjust do it….and….keep going!
